Nursing Careers Pathway (NCP) is a statewide program led by The WorkPlace in collaboration with Capital Workforce Partners. NCP helps individuals advance in the nursing field and decreases barriers to career success by offering additional support such as mentoring, tuition assistance, transportation, and job placement assistance.

Individuals beginning their pathway as a licensed CNA, Medical Assistant, EMT or LPN will receive training in either Licensed Practical Nursing or Registered Nursing. Get started on the path to your new career, today!

Program Overview

Licensed Practical Nursing

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, clinics and home healthcare environments. Employers rely on LPNs to care for patients, administer medications, and coordinate clinical management with supervising RNs and doctors.

Registered Nursing

As an RN, you will provide and coordinate patient care. RNs work with patients, doctors, and other healthcare workers. They can administer medication to patients, record and update patient records, consult with patients, and more.

Support Services

We offer support services including: mentoring, tuition assistance, transportation, uniforms, and job placement assistance.

Carefully read the program requirements to determine your eligibility to participate. Once confirmed, a member of our staff will work with you to complete the application and begin the process of starting your career path journey.

Earn Your Credentials

Individuals that complete the licensed practical nurse (LPN) or registered nurse (RN) training will be well prepared to sit for the NCLEX-RN or NCLEX-PM exam.

Eligibility

In order to participate in the WorkPlace’s Health Career Academy Nursing Career Pathways program, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • You must be accepted into an LPN program or an associate-level or bachelor’s degree-level nursing program.
  • Must possess a licensure as a CNA, EMT, LPN, or medical assistant (MA).
